At least here in the US, working for a company which sells airsoft products, I can say it's certainly not dying. And definitely not in Europe. Our dealers are ordering more and more product all the time. They can't keep in stock.

I wouldn’t say it’s dying, I think the interest in playing Airsoft has kind of hit a plateau and isn’t increasing like it was before COVID (I live in the US, not Japan)

I live in San Diego and there’s no more fields down here you have to go north to ocean side or LA to get to a field that’s open everyday ! Me and my homies made a Facebook page and invited the players we like the most and did monthly matches at abandoned apartments construction sites demo sites all kinds of places just gotta get your 10 solid players and u should be good

This is the point where you either double down on your hobby, or back out… and no one could blame you either way ❤

I’m sorry to hear that you feel this way and I can honestly say here in the United Kingdom it is thriving. There is a few controversial things with people getting banned from sites they haven’t visited, but other then that the community is great. I hope it turns around for you in Japan and the sport doesn’t die completely.

Tbh airsoft has always been a subcultures with countries that has strict gun laws and wannabe operators and almost joiners. I also keep a GBBR since it’s so close to the real thing and I can do dry fire drills at home with them, but who th would go to an airsoft convention..

I feel sad to hear this news. I also love Airsoft very much and I live in Japan, but the situation in recent years is really not good. Hopefully things will improve after this year.

Come to America. Airsoft is very popular in most areas and states. Keep in mind that the people that play here in America do not always play fair and can be extremely aggravating, but don’t let it get to you. Easy said then done.

A bit ironic to say where the sport began is also where it'll first die. to be fair the yen IS bad for more than a long time already, i dont know if the value will hopefully rise at some point or it'll just continue falling.. slowwly

It died here on the west coast US. We have milsim west yeah, but aside from that the local games in the forest have died off completely. Compared to 15 years ago.

Honestly, I think I was only able to get into the sport because of the pandemic. I had so much free time after finishing college, and unemployment checks were crazy! Now that the world is back to its regular program and I have so many other expenses and responsibilities, I can’t spare the time or money, even though I’m dying to get back into it, and bring my little brother into it

everything in moderation…. seriously guys…. Give yourself time in between to crave a day of pew’ing. Live life and dont spend all your time and money on anything. Doesnt matter what it is, you WILL burn out. Take some time off. Smell the flowers and when its time… Go out for a day of BB wars. Everything in moderation

Seems like the Japanese government intentionally made it harder for people to enjoy airsoft.

Here in the uk it’s still real popular but very much the big outdoor fields seem to be the ones who make the kind of money to stay open
