As Salaamu Alaykum
Today, we’re going to LA for some Uzbek food. This adventure took about 4 hours roundtrip.
The first thing you’ll notice when you arrive at Lazzat Chaikhona in Beverly Hills is there’s very little parking. You could park on the nearby street residential streets but make sure to triple check those signs.
I ordered Kulcha, Samsa, Lagman, and Lamb Plov. My total came out to $58.56.
Samsa is savory flaky crispy pastry loaded with seasoned fatty chunks of beef and a bit of diced onions. They are sold individually as an appetizer but it could very well substitute for a meal. I would have liked it fresh out of the oven or at least served steaming hot. I give it an 8/10.
Next is Lagman. It’s made of noodles, strips of beef, greebeans, red bell peppers, carrots, and onions. It was well seasoned and full of flavor. On the downside, the noodles were slightly overcooked and once again it wasn’t hot. This gets a 7.5/10.
And lastly Lamb Plov. Here’s what they show on their menu. Here’s what I was served. The lamb was unappealing, unseasoned, tough, and seemed to have been topped on instead of cooked with the plov. The rest of the dish was good but the rice was slightly undercooked. I give this dish a 5/10.
Overall, I was less than satisfied.
Until next time, InshaAllah
Peace.

Note: Lazzat Chaikhona provided a verbal statement they only use halal meat at all their locations. They also halal signage on display online and in-store. Lastly, the halal restaurant does not sell alcohol at any of their locations.
