One needs to understand the full context what Sri Krishna said to Arjuna 5500 years ago on the Kurukshetra battle field when faced with the prospect of killing his cousins and relatives. Sri Krishna said to Arjuna that he is merely executing the diving plan and that he should not claim ownership for the actions but merely to uphold righteousness. The context of Krishna saying I become death was to show to Arjuna he is the absolute and gives examples; he is the green Ness in the grass, the vital breath of all living things, the creator and destroyer of universes and worlds and he shows Arjuna his cosmic form where the creation and destruction happens all the time. This is when he says, I become death, the destroyer of worlds and points to Arjuna he just needs to play his role by realising that the absolute is in all and that is what does everything. Jesus said the same thing; the kingdom of god is within you. Be still and know you are god. The stillness is the absolute, the Brahman. There is nothing apart from it. It is the cause of everything and is itself uncaused, eternal. This is the Crux of Jesus's teaching to his disciples. The absolute manifests in human form as a teacher to show the truth. Rama, Krishna, Jesus, Buddha, Allah, Sri Ramana Maharshi all are such beings who have guided humanity for millennia. Religions have formed around their teachings but how many really, truly understand the true nature of our beingness. God revealed to Moses I am that I am, I will be what I will be. Truth is very simple.
