That's crazy, you know what else is crazy? Tesla refusing to honor their warrenty due to rain damage forcing the owner to buy a new battery

Tesla will find an excuse not to replace your battery even if it is under warranty.

To anyone who's still on the Tesla Copium. Reminder that Applecare used to fix shit for free. Now you still pay for replacement parts

The problem with the battery warranty is that the closer the cars age gets to 8 years, the qucker it depreciates. No one wants a car that is about to run out of battery warranty.

8 year warranty is Battery & Drive Unit warranty, so motors are covered for 8 years or 160,000km (which ever comes first). Some vehicles even have this as an 8 year, unlimited kilometre warranty.

If you live in certain states, the battery warranty is mandated at 10 years or 150,000 miles. These states are: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont & Washington...with Nevada (2025) & New Mexico (2026) following closely behind.

We don't hate Tesla. We are just not interested in electric cars in general.

The reason i will stay with good old petrol and diesel is that here in northern ireland i can get a good mk8 civic for under 2 grand and not worry about repair costs (after warranty since its like 12-18 years old) and its fun to repair and drive them. Knowing that i can repair it myself for really cheap and modify it on a budget is what keeps me on the ice platform. ALSO, soon synthetic fuel will make our cars carbon neutral so we would be better for the environment then a new or repaired tesla since they use so much lithium for their batteries and it takes 100-200k miles to become neutral on their carbon footprint.

Some reasons for me not to purchase a full-electric vehicle included the limited range that the vehicle can travel on one charge as well as the scarcity of electric charging stations. On top of that, I simply do like the raw feel and aggression that a gas-powered engine can give me (especially with manual transmission). (Though a reason to invest in an electric vehicle would be its pleasantly fast acceleration, but given the other mentioned reasons I’d probably stick to gas-powered cars for now.)

Meanwhile, the 28 year old engine in my car runs great and is still going strong.

Imagine having to replace your engine at 120,000 miles or every 8 years. πŸ˜‚

And when buying a used Tesla ask for a battery degradation test. Dealerships will lie and say they don't have proper tools or it can only be done at Tesla. No a Tesla is a computer and it is done right on the dash. Password is service, all lowercase once ya know ya know
