This is not the "previous version of Tarkov Arena".
This is their old generic F2P shooter.
The assets aren't even the same, they just look similar because these guns will always look similar if they're being modeled after their real life counterparts. Some of them may have been recycled and touched up, but they're not just ripped out of Hired Ops.
The gunplay is completely different, the player controller is different, the physics are different, the maps are different.
The only thing that's the same is some of the recycled voice lines.
Tarkov Arena is likely going to have radically different game types than their F2P games as well.
This is just a dumb short.

Contract Wars predates the entire world of EFT, focusing on the battle between USEC and BEAR over Terragroup properties prior to the area of Tarkov being “quarantined.” EFT Arena is set up following contractors and scavs fighting in an arena set up by a mysterious individual way after the quarantine of the Tarkov area

The thing about hired ops is its not really tarkov. Sure there's the 2 main factions, weapon models and vibe but its not the gladiatorial combat that arena is portraying. This is a global war between USEC and BEAR, I believe hired ops takes place in between tarkov and Russia 2028, hired ops is the start of the global war mentioned in Russia 2028

All the comments here missing the point. Hes clearly not claiming that hired ops is literally tarkov arena. He's saying that its a free and viable option if you want the tarkov look/feel in an arena shooter now before arena is released. Not sure whether people are intentionally missing this point or they just have the comprehensive skills of a toddler.

The game mechanics and gunplay in these two games are totally different the only thing that’s the same is that it’s set in the same universe
