Big Customer Red Flag

In the world of car dealerships, there’s an interesting unwritten rule: if a customer kicks the tire of a car, chances are they’re not going to buy it. Why? The act of kicking the tire often signals uncertainty. It’s a sign that the person may not fully understand what they should be looking for or what questions to ask, so they resort to superficial actions to seem knowledgeable. They’re caught up in the show of it rather than truly diving into what matters — like the vehicle’s performance, features, or long-term value.

This type of customer might go from dealership to dealership, unsure of what they really want, only to end up choosing the cheapest option in the end. Instead of focusing on what fits their needs best, they fall back on price as the deciding factor. The tire-kicker, without asking the right questions or engaging meaningfully with the sales process, misses out on discovering the true value of a vehicle.

For businesses, especially in the auto industry, it’s crucial to recognize these behaviors. Tire-kickers don’t need the cheapest car; they need guidance. It’s about turning that initial uncertainty into an opportunity to educate and help the customer make a well-informed decision.

In my whole 40 years...of life... I've never kicked a Tyre... 😊 Now I'm just going to fool my sales Guy and kick the tyre and see the look on his face... Just before I actually buy the car

Just because they dont buy from you dont mean they dont buy a car, I have always kicked a tire but i already did my work and know what im buying before i get there. My question is whats the best deal you can give me and Id be dumb not to go to another dealer for a better price.

what is wrong with a customer trying to get a better deal somewhere else, especially when dealers are trying to rip off the customers.
