A regular dose of hope and positivity. I donā€™t need my creative work to be good enough for people. It just needs to be good enough for me.

The enemy of good is "perfect".
Make it good first before you worry about perfection

Another thing

It's inspiration to see beginning work. When I first started painting warhammer miniatures, I was intimidated by all the beautiful jobs I saw on the internet, and I knew i couldn't achieve that at first. After sifting through the pristine ones, the amateur ones were the ones that gave me hope.

I want people to show off their badly done hobbies so others can see yes, you can do the thing badly, and still be proud of it.

1000% solid advice for anyone creating anything. Make it for yourself first. If others like it, bring them along on the ride with you.

OPM is one of my favorite examples of why you shouldn't worry too much about whether or not the internet will like it (as usually the worry is about the art style, not the story, and even then...)

You don't understand just how perfectly timed this is, I've been having hesitations for the past Week over creative work like that.

Reminds me of my philosophy when approaching the internet. Make whatever you want, someone will find a reason to like it.

One of the most famous italian comic writers (Sio) draws practically Stickers and he grew in number exponentially in a span of 10-15 years, he went from doing parodies on youtube to being published by the biggest comic publishers in the nation.
He is fantastic and is extremely down to earth, and his comic style is something that a kid could replicate pretty easily after a few months of working on that.
And he knows this perfectly, its why he isnt full of himself, his popularity came from the fact that he did comics in a style that nobody would have used since "it was too simple".
Just put dedication in it and what you are trying to create will matter.
Even if you dont become famous or dont make money off of it... You did it and can confidently say that you did

I spent my entire life speasing others. The only positive reinforcement i got qas when i did what others wanted...
Thor is correct "good enough for you" is very helpful and is part of the therapy for me. I dont know if this helps but i wanted to vent.
Thank you thor.

5 years ago when I started art I thought ĀØno one will be dumb enough to buy thisĀØ and now its my full time job, you dont win at art but you just get a little better each time

(since I got asked, my bluesky is yearnwolf)

No matter how good it is, someoneā€™s gonna hate it; no matter how ā€œbadā€ it is, someoneā€™s gonna love it.

My internet made this seem REALLY bad. It started buffering as soon as he said "Nothing you ever make will be good enough-"

One of my favorite authors gave very similar advice to writers. Figure out your fail-state. You dont need to be successful to do something you love. You can acknowledge that the creative process alone is good for you, and that makes it worth doing regardless of success.

Forget the Internet. If you were to die tomorrow, and one of your biggest regrets was that you never even started, get started now, make it for yourself.

You could literally solve world peace and the internet people would find a way to be mad. Make the best thing you make. Make yourself proud.

The key to making something is ensuring that you enjoy making it, not that anyone else does. It doesn't matter what other people think about your work, because your stuff should be made for you, not for anyone else.
That mindset has helped me a lot as a music artist.
