I honestly believe, that Toymaker is trying to genuinely help Doctor there. Doctor is trying to explain to small stupid humans, what exactly he is, so why not help him by literally showing it to them?

Fun fact the masters Rasputin dance and toy makers dance are within 15 hours of each other and in my head thatās why Davidās doctor looks like heās so fed up because he canāt escape his villains doing dance numbers on him

people might think the Toymaker is just a ripoff of the Master, but this is actually an accurate portrayal of the how he was when he met the first Doctor. He was flamboyant with a sparkly dress and flippant as hell. Its probably more accurate to say the John Simm Master was a ripoff of the Toymaker.

Casting Neil Patrick Harris as Toymaker was an absolute brilliant move especially with how they really went back to the original character concept. Growing up a Whovian, it was always sad to see how they drifted from that as the show went on.
