Nah those are not heli moms. My stable had a mare where just walk past her field, no matter human, dog or horse, she had the ears pinned, stomping between you and the baby and fake charging. Only her owner and the two stable owners could work with her for the first month or two.
First time mom.
Second baby she was more relaxed and the stable regulars could handle her 😊

I find it interesting how one of the mares puts herself between the two foals in what i feel is a protective position even with the other mare behind her. She's watching and present but seems confident at the same time.
