The fact that you even have to question if one is real or not goes to show how good the knockoffs are. These days with the price and likely QC issues of a Gibson, I wouldn't blame someone for intentionally buying a chibson and simply upgrading the cheap pickups for a set of epiphones or something. That being said, I think if you own a fake, it's your responsibility to remove all branding so it can't get into the market unintentionally. I did that myself on a knockoff Wylde LP.

I love my chibson. With a little fettling, it plays better than most gibsons I've played, it sounds great, and if it got broken or stolen at a gig, I'd only be a little bit sad.

What a mess they are my Wolf PRS cipy is amazing they come from Los Angeles California and they have Mahogany body and neck flame maple vaneers set neck Alnico pickups 24 frets abalone inlays Rotomatic Grover tuners Tunamatic bridge and a bone nut and a optional Gator Case package deal which I got such a great deal and a pro setup before they send it to specifically what you want I picked low action and couldnt be more impressed they care about the musician more than profit probably like Harley Benton does for near were your from Rock On Brotha!!

Top end brand guitars are overpriced to maintain exclusivity. When master luthier, Chris Larkin was alive, his creations were still less expensive than a Gibson CS. So top end brand ownership becomes a game of one-upmanship.When one sees the snobbery from many folk that goes along with top end guitars and the indignant response to fakes, there is some amusement for neutral onlookers. There's plenty of value substitutes out there but I suspect the mindset of the purchaser of a fake, has only Greatest Hits in his Lp collection, Go Faster stripes in his bright red family saloon and still has his communion money! 💰😂

I don’t care. For $188 shipped to my door, the quality is damn good and you won’t find much new in a shop for that price. Mine has real pearl and a real wood cap too surprisingly

Thanks for the PSA China Mike. My Gibson LP was made in the USA and came from Sweetwater with a cert of authenticity. BTW it plays great because the neck was plecked. There are some tuning issues but not too bad.

I love how Slash’s Les Paul was a fake and it sounded so good Gibson released their version of the fake Les Paul from the Appetite For Destruction Album.

The serial number on the fake is actually much better than their normal ones(black one with Grovers). And the fake one with the fret nibs looks pretty good to. Btw, I owned a Chibson back in 1994. Yes they were making them back then except, they couldn't fool anyone. Mine had a bolt on neck that I purchased used for $150. Loved that guitar oddly enough.

I got a chibson from the guitar store I worked at part time for free. The biggest difference between that and a real Gibson was that the Gibson's headstock was still attached to the neck

Meanwhile Gibson, instead of going after these crooks, is still suing iconic companies like Dean. Gibson/Dean lawsuit goes to court in April.
