Zhenya, nicknamed The Plumber, is a Russian humanoid robot that reportedly analyze and respond to human emotions in real-time.

Promobot, the Perm-based company behind Zhenya, claims the robot responds and influences human decisions 20 percent more effectively than people. The Plumber doesn't perform physical labor, but is designed for improving customer experience by ensuring interactions are tailored to meet the need of users. Promobot is positioning the AI robot for use in consultation centers, public services, and customer-facing roles.

Zhenya's face and skin is crafted from advanced silicone and materials to replicate realistic facial expressions. Promobot says the detail fosters more natural and engaging interactions, which is essential its role as an assistant.

As highlighted on the Russian TV program Labarotirum, Zhenya functions offline so it isn't reliant on Internet connectivity. It recognizes speech, processes responses, and provides answers seamlessly without external support, making it a versatile tool for various environments.

Most of the robot’s components are sourced domestically in Russia.
