So both

70% sand, 30% screened compost. Cut short, de thatch and aerate first. Then spread all that goodness around. Warm season grasses. For cool season grass, reverse the ratio and change to top soil. 70% top soil with 30% sand.

Use mortar/plaster sand.

If this isn’t the most “internet” type thing I’ve seen today? Which is better? … No answer given, no explanation, no help, only clickbait. I can’t wait for the internet to die.

Sand has worked for me slightly better than compost or topsoil. Just because sand settles quickly after watering. St Augustine Grass/FL

For compost I’m using a peat/compost spreader to filter large debris and wood chips

Sand for warm season grass (bermuda) compost and soil for cool season grass (kentucky or rye). Also sand is better for clay type soils. So mostly in the south.

Sand is instant results for stable leveling. Compost/topsoil build up the soil over time. It will become very healthy and level over time. So maybe 💁 I think both in conjunction. I think you can steer irrigation easier with more sand as long as the microbes in the soil are composting everything feed to it rapidly. Always use soil conditioner no matter your decision

Depends on the type of grass you have. Warm season- use sand. Cool season, use dirt/compost

I would tear it all up, till the soil, add some amendments and level out
Seed with a grass that grows well locally
Thats for my personal yard though

I live in Florida with St. Augustine grass. My backyard looks like a speed bump trap 😂. I want to try the sand but does it matter what time of you do this
