If you’ve rafted the South Fork American River (Class 3), then you probably remember Hospital Bar Rapid (Class 3). You also probably remember that this massive wave has a tendency to sweep you off your feet, sometimes literally! The South Fork was the place to be last year, as it had something unique to offer during each season. Beautiful wildflowers and high flows in the Spring, warm weather and extra splashes in the Summer, and a crowd-less, tranquil canyon in the Fall.
