Ugh. Kid needs to learn that word isn't nice, and should apologize for saying it. Not for hurting the grown ups feelings who was being condescending. I think babysitters Mom should also say sorry for treating her like a baby. Maybe even have it be a condition of the little girls apology. Adults HAVE to be willing to do anything they're comfortable demaning of a child.

Nope the first person to show disrespect was Julie using baby talk to a child who is obviously not a baby. Baby talking a child is rude so you get what you give. Julie should apologize. She didnt call her stupid she asked if she was. There is a difference between calling someone stupid and asking if they are. If Julie felt stupid thats not Katies fault.

If I was her mom I would tell her that it’s rude to call people stupid but I still probably wouldn’t have her apologize cause I’m not gonna be teaching my kids that you should apologize just to appease people, I think you should only apologize if you are actually sorry not just to make people feel better
