The most expensive doctor - anesthesiologist. That's crazy! Billed by the minute. Do you have discounts?😂

I had major surgery 35 years ago. I'm sure anesthetics will have changed during that time but i never had any recollection of waking up in recovery. I just remember waking up later back on the ward. In the UK so thanks NHS

Oh wow 🤯 I seriously had no idea about this. They leave you in a back room hanging out. I’m a mother of three and just figured I’d take a little extra time before I had to face going home and being back on the clock 😆 it wasn’t too long maybe an extra 3040 minutes but I guess that adds up. They should tell people that. I didn’t officially see the bill that it would’ve been nice to know “take all the time you need to wake up, but we do charge by the minute

I was going through ileostomy surgery and apparently the surgeon nicked an artery when they took me to ICU my BP dipped. They took me back in and gutted me like a fish. But I made it and didn't remember a thing other then waking up thinking it was only 15 mins. and saying that was fast. Everyone looked like ghosts including my mom and girl at the time. When actually was 24hrs 15 mins later.

This video makes me feel thankful that I live in Canada and do not have to pay a cent for medical surgical procedures.

When I "came to" after a procedure at a surgical center, I was immediately asked if I wanted the doctor to call 911 because I stopped breathing and they needed stop and get me breathing again. The doctor seemed to try to dance around that I actually flat lined. I was so confused and scared at what was taking place. Clearly, I was alive, and told them I need to leave. Needless to say I never received any bill for the surgical center, the ENT, and the anesthesiologist. I should have taken them to court. I will never have surgery outside of a hospital. True story.

We are SO SO lucky here in Australia. I can be in the ICU for 2 months, have really really expensive surgery ( not talking about cosmetic unnecessary surgery) give birth to a premie who goes to neonatal ICU, for 5 weeks, and guess how much the bill will be? NOT EVEN 1 CENT. WOW!!!
