AM with FM converter, that didn't last long and moved onto cassette deck. First set of 6x9 speakers was sparkomatic, lol

First car stereo was a Pioneer unit in '73. I had a suitcase full of 8-tracks on the back seat at all times. Thought I'd gone to heaven when cassettes came along and I got all my music into a single cassette case about a 1/3 of the size of the suitcase. Got to use the back seat for other things....wink, wink, nudge, nudge, say no more!!

First car stereo was a cassette player in a '79 280ZX. First stereo I had, in general, was a suitcase record player. My grandpa's car, growing up, had an 8-track. I grew up in the late 70's/early 80's.

There was a radio in my 67 Cougar when I got it, one speaker in back but it played 8 tracks. I scrounged up some speakers and other stuff so I could listen to music while I worked on it and for the handful of times I was able to drive it.

My dad liked driving it to his job in town selling farm equipment and parts. So I got it completely worn out 3 years after buying it when I was 13. Last time I drove it was 1987, and its going in the shop to make it drivable again this fall. When the snow gets here, it goes in for its 2nd paint job, engine refresh, and most importantly, the suspension and brakes getting sorted out.

I built a 351C 2V for it in 2008, but never got it running, so I need to pull it apart and make it work again. After its drivable, its getting a hidden stereo and it will only have music from before 1988 on it.
