Ingredients:
Outer cover : -
Maida/all purpose flour - 1 cup
Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
Salt - pinch
Gingely oil - 2 tbsp
Ghee - 2 tsp
Stuffing : -
Chana dal - 1/2 cup
Grated jaggery - 1/ cup
Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
Grated coconut - 2 tbsp
For cooking : -
Ghee as needed
Method:
Mix all the ingredients for outer cover jnto a smooth dough and keep side for 30 mins.
Add chana dal with water and pressure cook for 2 to 3 whistles. Drain water from tmdl and add to a blender. Add the rest of the ingredients and blend d into a coarse paste.
Roll the stuffing into equal sized balls. Roll the outer covering into balls as well.
Use a gallon size ziplock bag and cut it from sides to make a flap. Add oil and spread. Take one outer covering ball and spread it out. Add the stuffing and place it on the zip lock bag. Use either your fingers or a rolling pin to roll into a round shape.
Place it on a hot tava/pan. Once the side is cooked, flip it and apply ghee. Repeat the same for the other side.
Serve hot poli with ghee
