Only way OP pays for the black dress, is if she gets paid back for the green dress too. If Kat wants to scream that she can’t be force what to wear, then she shouldn’t be in the bridal party to begin with. When you’re a brides maid, you wear the dress the bride picked. Period.

As for OP... not the booty hole. It was her wedding, her rules and she wasn't being a bridezilla or over the top about it. If Kat didn't wanna wear a forest green dress despite OP letting her pick which dress in that colour she wanted and then paying for it for Kat, then she should have resigned her position as a bridesmaid. OP most certainly shouldn't have to pay for the black dress that Kat CHOSE on her OWN TIME to purchase and wear either. Kat isn't OP's child, so she shouldn't have to pay for the messes and bad decisions she makes when she's not around. The ex-bridesmaid made her bed and she can lie in it. Hope that lil' black dress doubles well as a night gown for you!

She is completely in the wrong, it’s ur wedding and you are allowed to pick whatever color palette you choose (it was a great color palette too) and i like the idea of having the MOH in their own color dress so for “Kat” to go and disrespect that and not only insult your choices but to DIRECTLY go against what you said on your WEDDING is absolutely ridiculous. She chose to make those decisions and buy the dress and she knew that something bad would probably happening so no you should not give her the money for a dress SHE bought for HERSELF, and if she was really your friend she would respect your choices and if she really hated the colors THAT MUCH then she should’ve told you to find someone else to be a bridesmaid

There is no way that she is in the wrong the bride expressed her feelings about her friend wearing black and a supportive friend wouldnt have gone out behind the brides back and gotten a black dress, thats her friends fault. She had a dress that was fully paid for and still decided to get a different dress. The bride does not have to give her anything. She'll have to suck it and shut up.

See, this is within the bride's control. It's totally in her right to want green dresses, especially since she paid for them. If she was trying to control other aspects of the "friend" like making her dye her hair green or something, I could see it. But it's a dress. I hate the color orange, but I'd be willing to wear an orange dress for something like this. OP is NTA. This is just a step below the whole 'person who isn't the bride comes in a white dress'. "Friend" is TA 8/10

Omg no you shouldn't be paying for a dress she bought 🤦♀️ it was her choice to go buy another dress not yours so it's her responsibility. If she wants a pink or blue dress she should save it for her own wedding.
