Definitely V1. Can always imagine Corax with that growl in his voice. A quiet assertion that he knows exactly who he is, and that it's so low that he is letting you into his confidence.

Masterfully done as ever!

The gravitas of V1 is very spot on, but I really like what you're doing with the second reading. Corax was the most openly neurotic loyalist Primarch and very self aware.

I find it trite sometimes how Corax and Curze are compared; but one of the many things making Corax underrated is his self-awareness, and trying to combat his hypocrisy with force and usefulness to others.

V1.
Corax liberated his world from slavery that requires a level of self-confidence and vindication in his beliefs that his moments of weakness would be few and very far between.

I prefer version 1 because that’s how I imagine Corax to be. One description of him was that he wore a perpetual light frown so serious that it bordered on caricature (paraphrasing) and he was the brooding sort. Corax saw the Emperor as the other Primarchs could not, as shown at their first meeting, when Corax could see both the large golden warrior and a normal sized older man, and he was the only Primarch with whom the Emperor discussed the Chaos Gods. He could see the many different faces the Emperor had worn throughout the ages, though wasn’t sure which was the original face. I think it had something to do with his unique abilities. Corax is my favourite Primarch, if you couldn’t already tell! I’m glad you did this Chris!

...and that Duty; that Neccessity, only ends with Death.

Only in Death...

The power of pacing, speed and intonnation, along with a well chosen background music is amazing. You could easily have been an orator and impacted thousands with speeches like this one. I loved it!

I like both versions, and I could see Corax trying to convince himself in private before orating the assured version to his warriors to bolster their confidence. With that said, if I had to choose, I do think version one, the assured version, fits Corax and his quiet brand of determination the best.

First Corax would be him up till Istvan V.
After Istvan, the second version may come closer, at least in tone if not sentiment.

Either way, very well done indeed.

1 Vote for "V1-Assured"

Also, I have never imagined Raven Raven with an English accent. In my mind, he's always been American. Maybe just me.

I can imagine Corax making a speech throw their shackles from Chaos and rise up.

You could feel Corax's desperation to want to be more. The raven guard Deserved better.
