This was a battle I fought as the Egyptians against the Sasani (Sasanian or Sassanid Persian Empire) somewhere in the desert. The Sasani were outnumbered 3 to 2, but had more ranged units consisting of superior archers. On the other hand the Egyptian army was composed of several units of armored and shielded spearmen. During the opening salvos my slingers were mowed down, but melee combat carried the day. Egypt deployed 896 troops, lost 392. Sasani deployed 616 troops, lost 439.
