Short answer is, "Hell no, you idiots." Megalodon liked to hunt fatty, slow whales that hung out near the surface. Humans like to hunt fatty, slow whales that hang out near the surface. If Megalodon had survived into the modern day, whalers probably would've already hunted them into extinction because they didn't like the competition.

I asked Bigfoot and he said he didn't know.

Not to mention that the large percentage of the ocean that's 'undiscovered' isn't some highly populated predator hotspot. It's water. Just... water.

I don't understand why people choose to ignore basic physics and biology when it comes to questions like this 🤦🏻‍

Also their teeth show that they were struggling high levels of zinc indicate they were resorting to feeding on smaller prey which is an indication of a struggling species. Toward the end.

the more likely scenario is an undiscovered species of large predatory shark (like, 25-30 ft, 40 max) that hunts giant squid and other undiscovered large bodied invertebrates and fish. but even such an unlikely scenario is FAR more plausable than Megalodon still being alive

This is great. I always get some of my eight year old students asking me how we know for sure the megalodon is not around anymore so now I have an easy to understand answer

Also whales started becoming gigantic around the time megalodon went extinct. Perhaps because they weren't being eaten so much anymore

If always found it kinda stupid when people say that 75% of our ocean is unexplored and that we should explore, and im just there like... Why? Like most of it is a underwater desolate wasteland.

I much prefer the megamouth shark which is a "toothless megalodon" (maybe the megalodon could be "reborn" more or less, in short with a wandering niche, "life will find a way")

Even if they’d somehow survived longer than they actually did I doubt they would have survived the height of whaling, they would have died out from starvation.

Exactly, who ever wants to believe the species is still alive just can't let go the Idea of an once alive whale sized shark and the fanfic begins.

Sharks shed so many teeth throughout their lifetime that they would be everywhere
