The “Velvet Bluesdozer” was known for his innovative guitar playing techniques and memorable grooves. He was part of the Stax family from 1966 to 1974, and he released 11 charting singles during this time, including "Laundromat Blues," "That's What The Blues Is All About," and, of course, "Born Under A Bad Sign," written by Stax's William Bell.
