It's funny cause I'm french and I was told my a Deaf friend that they tend to avoid using letters in namesigns! I think it was to avoid making it feel like a signed version of the name of the person rather than a name of its own.
I don't know if it's a cultural difference between the French Deaf community and the American Deaf community of if there isn't a unified agreement across the French Deaf community though 🤔

My name is Rose, and i had a deaf girl in my grade that I hope I got along with. Because of her, I was able to sign my own namesake. Wish her aids helped me learn more asl

If your English name is a noun (or has a sign already) then can you use the sign of that noun or should you just fingerspell until you get a sign name from a deaf person

Have a question! If someone knows your name sign, but doesn’t know you really personally (like if a follower sees you in the wilds) would it be okay for that person to say “hey *your name sign*’!”

Namesigns can also be given to pets! I've had two deaf tutors who both had namesigns for their pets, which I think is great :)
