I had this on two different occasions, and i will say it was the worst experience. My finger was swollen and kept getting fat, to the point it was purple and yellow from the infection. When i went to the emergency room, they incision my finger, and drained all the puss and blood out of my finger. The second time i had it, i just cut my finger and drained it myself. Please refrain from biting your nails, worst pain I’ve ever felt in my life and I’ve been shot before

I’ve been biting and chewing on the skin around my fingernails for over 25 years. I don’t know why, but it feels cathartic to say it anonymously. I bite until it bleeds. Not saying it can’t happen, but I’ve never gotten an infection. I also use hand sanitizer religiously, and yes, with open wounds.
