A 4.3 vortec running on 4 cylinders sounds better than everything you listed other than the 5.3 lm7.

1998 Chevy Suburban 5.7 Vortec one of the engines that a lot of people kind of don't realize that also was a version of the small block as well and possibly one of the similar engines to an LS but not an LS this is what started the LS is the 5. 7 vortec well to be exact this engine inspired to make The LS and that's why a lot of people forget about this engine and its history and if they say that there are very a lot of similarities but at the same time very different but people know the 5.7 L Vortec engine tone

5.3 VORTEC is NOT an LS, it’s just based on the LS platform. That being said, Vortec swap sounds budazz and is popular for a reason. Not a Chevy fan but I can appreciate the durability.
