We met back in the 1980s when he was producing his TV show in the Northern Virginia area, and performing off and on at several venues. Unfortunately, my schedule as a full-time long distance trucker made it next to impossible for him to book me on any of his broadcasts, or obtain gigs in general, for that matter. Once I retired in 2003 and recovered from a neck injury, I had no excuses and was finally able to make a couple of appearances at his new location at the New Deal Cafe in Maryland.
