This may look like: • Recognizing if someone is sad and asking if they’re okay • Expressing yourself with friends differently than with your parents • Understanding your thoughts and feelings and able to relate them to others Babies start learning these skills from birth! As soon as they start interacting with those who care for them, they start to develop an understanding of feelings. Parents help nurture these skills. Even as a baby, they’re picking up on how parents respond to their social and emotional needs. Playtime helps nurture these social-emotional skills and is so important for many reasons. Playtime can help baby understand social situations, process emotions, explore different interests, and develop important life skills. These videos review social-emotional abilities at each stage, and games to play during playtime to help encourage baby along. 🔗 Learn more about developing social-emotional abilities: https://pathways.org/topics-of-develo... 🔗 Learn more about the importance of play: https://pathways.org/topics-of-develo... 🔗When is the best time to play with baby: https://pathways.org/the-best-time-to... 👶 Download our FREE, award-winning mobile app, featuring important milestones to keep baby on track: https://pathways.org/mobile-app 🏠 Visit Pathways.org for more FREE resources: https://www.pathways.org 📧 Stay in the know!
