Composer Brief: You are a media composer and have been selected to compose a children's song for a Nickelodeon show. The scene with your music will teach children how to share, wait their turns, and work together. The song must be light hearted, humorous, encouraging, and uplifting. You've decided to compose a "round" which exemplifies all of these life skills. Parameters: The form/genre must be a ROUND Major mode, choose keys up to 2 sharps or 2 flats Must be easy to sing, work as a round, use simple harmonies. 2-4 minute video presentation posted to YouTube. Rubric for Advanced Music Theory 361: Original work for SATB choir. Voices may split. Use of an industry standard music notation program. Text theme: winter, Christmas, holiday, seasons. Any language. Chromatic techniques: applied chords (tonicizations X2 minimum); modulation to closely related key using the pivot chord method Diatonic patterns: harmonic sequence Full 2nd-level contextual analysis including all RN, chord symbols, T-S-D-T designations On-time drafts; meeting deadlines Song form with logical variations of song form that would work for that individual piece.
