The stakes for the game are high: everybody has 1 life, no armor, no natural regen, no coordinates and only proximity vc for communication. When the players get some semblance of progress the difficulty starts ramping up to offset that progres, pushing everyone to their limits until the survivors reach the end or everyone dies trying.
