NYO-USA and NYO2 Alumni Perform Beethoven's Symphony No. 5

To complement their performance of a complete Beethoven symphony cycle at Carnegie Hall with Sir John Eliot Gardiner, members of the internationally acclaimed period instrument ensemble Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique (ORR) and ORR Assistant Conductor Dinis Sousa led a one-day workshop with alumni of Carnegie Hall’s National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America (NYO-USA) and NYO2 on February 22, 2020. The workshop explored approaches to Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 from historically informed performance practice, and concluded with a reading of the complete symphony in Mary Flagler Cary Hall at the DiMenna Center for Classical Music.
