When I’m gonna go see a band, I like to dive into some of the songs I wanna hear at the gig and also that will put me in the mood for a fun night. These trax I chose below are some fave songs of mine and other artists I groove to. This EWF Gratitude record was a huge influence on me and still I think the greatest live record ever. A close second is the Rufus Stompin At The Savoy. I was fortunate to meet and work closely with Tony Maiden from Rufus when I was starting out and that’s him playing and singing on my version of "Sweet Thing.” (The Rufus record also has a few great sax solos from the excellent Ernie Watts.)
