This auspicious ritual is observed on the last day of Chaitra (Mid March to Mid April) known as "Chatra Sankranti" on Bengali calendar. In Dhupguri, some local communities who are involved in this Puja offers their dedication to the Gods by a procession (Gajon) in disguises of Lord Shiva, Maa Kali, Lord Krishna, Maa Durga and other deities and sages along with some demons (Rakshasa, Asura, Bhut and Pichasa). This festival which is loved and watched by many peoples can also be observed at amny places of Bengal which as a community festival bring the people more closer to each other.
