By a cyclic process, either power is obtained or power is input. In case power is obtained by it is called as a power cycle. The power cycle can be of two type i.e., gas power cycle or vapor power cycle. We know that a thermodynamic process always needs a working substance to execute.If the working substance in the power cycle is a gas, it is called as a gas power cycle.Ideal SI engine and CI engine runs on gas power cycle.
