Fats Domino - (Imperial Records) Session #10 - April 26, 1952

6 videos • 390 views • by Fats-4-Ever The last session with Young as producer; One of his worst sessions, musically. "Long Lonesome Journey" is a slow-blues and an album filler. "Poor Poor Me" isn't any better but hit the charts at #10. Very disappointing and this was the excuse Fats needed to bring back Bartholomew as a producer and Imperial and Dave worked out their differences. "Trust In Me" is a cheerful jump-blues, one of the better ones (of this session) "Cheatin'" , a thumping blues ballad, is the best track with a solid guitar solo. So, now it's full speed ahead, although it will take a few years, the "white"-buying public will discover the "Happy Beat" of "The King Of The Big Beat"!
