(Not So Tiny) Tiny House Build Series

35 videos • 398,483 views • by Crafted Workshop Welcome to the (Not So Tiny) Tiny House build series, where I’m building a 670 ft2 tiny house / guest house in our backyard and covering the whole process, start to finish. Why? Well, my wife and I just had our second kid and, with the addition of that second kid, our main house is getting a little cramped for guests. In Part 1, I covered designing the tiny house, getting HOA approval and my building permit, and finally doing some site prep work to prepare for construction. In Part 2, I covered laying out the building using batter boards and string line and setting the string line to final grade. We also graded the site and dug the holes for the concrete footings. In Part 3, I covered how to create forms and pour concrete footings plus build wooden girders or beams for the tiny house foundation. In Part 4, I covered how to frame a floor system, including assembling all of the joists, attaching them to the girders with hurricane ties, and finally sheathing the floor with Advantech sheathing! Part 5, which will be published on January 15, will cover framing the walls. This will include framing exterior walls with window and door openings as well as the interior walls, then sheathing the walls with ZIP-R insulated sheathing.
