Runner bean "tuber" project. Reliable early perenniel beans!

3 videos • 43 views • by Brian White Runner beans have "tubers" that sometimes overwinter in Canada, the UK and in Ireland (and other places too). When they start to grow in spring, they can grow spectacularly fast! and this growth is much faster than beans from seeds. However sometimes they start to grow way to late in the year. This project is about finding the environmental "trigger" that starts them growing and also about finding ways to store the tubers over winter and seeing if the tubers can be divided to produce multiple bean plants every growing season.
