4 videos • 7 views • by Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Oslo The Week of the Italian Cuisine in the World is an annual initiative to promote Italian culinary traditions. In 2024, the 9th edition of the Week of the Italian Cuisine in the World was held from the 18th to the 24th November, and celebrated the “Mediterranean Diet and Cuisine of the Origins: Health and Tradition” aims to highlight the importance of our roots and to promote the Mediterranean Diet, as a symbol of our culture #SCIM2024. The IIC Oslo collaborated with the Campania region in order to present the Cilento area, as the territory from which the Mediterranean Diet was born. On November 21st 2024, the IIC hosted an event together with the national park of Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni, which is the second largest protected area in Italy and includes the UNESCO sites of the Temples of Paestum, the Archaeological Park of Elea-Velia and the Charterhouse of San Lorenzo in Padula. In this occasion, we presented a photographic exhibition of the amazing beauty of this territory, and offered a taste of the authentic culinary tradition to our audience, concluding the evening with a delicious buffet by the Italian chef Gena Iodice.
