2 videos • 75 views • by MAD ZOO All platforms: https://smarturl.it/AESemblance Following the release of his acclaimed BREAKING AND ENTERING EP on Renraku, ALEPH makes his 2020 return to MAD ZOO joined by British duo, Ekcle, in the form of an experimental new two-tracker, Semblance: Speaking on the first half of the release, ALEPH says “Inbetween represents a juxtaposition of shimmering melody, experimental bass, and jazz-inspired rhythmic elements, framed around the ambient sound of UK future garage. Written with the intent to capture the ethos of the aforementioned motifs, it presents these ideas in a longer form composition, seeking to find a new paradigm Inbetween tradition and modernity.” Prolifically forging forward in 2020, following a string of releases which include an official remix for DJ Shadow and De La Soul, Harvey Carter from Ekcle explains the process of working on Semblance. “Both of these tracks were really fun to write with all 3 of us manning the helm,” says Carter. “If you think we cover a lot of genres in these two, you should have heard the original demos, all completely different! This collaboration in particular was an incredibly enjoyable experience as working on music with someone as diverse as ALEPH allowed us to create freely without boundaries.
