Custom 3D Metal Tatebanko Signs

3 videos • 52 views • by Ray MAKES I Have made several metal signs over the years and now that i have a youtube channel i have a place to document the process for making these signs. I use a technique that i have seen before in small Japanese artwork known as Tatebanko. while traditionally Tatebanko is made of layered paper... i use the same concept here for my layered signs, except i use aluminum and a CNC machine called a waterjet. painting is usually executed by spray can. most signs are 2 or three layes but to date the most complicated sign was the one for Escagedo Woodworking composed of 6 layers and large amount of lettering. if you are interested in a custom made sign, please contact me.
