Woodturning End Grain Pine Bowl - uneditied videos

4 videos • 1,997 views • by Ray MAKES here are the unedited videos of the wood turning of a 26" diameter pine bowl in end grain. this was a very nice piece that is currently in the drying rack, hopefully it wont crack. the videos are all in real time and can give you some detail that i otherwise edit out of my videos. hope you enjoy and don't forget to subscribe. had a piece of pine that wasn't good enough to make anything else out of so decided to make a bowl and leave a mid band portion with bark on it. the bowl is about 26" in diameter at the widest point, the mouth of the bowl is around 12" in diameter. this is an end grain turning and you can see in the video i have a few home made tools as well as the homemade lathe itself. more information on the lathe will be coming in the near future. i apologize in advance, there are far too many moments when i block the view of the turning with my body. fist time in about 20 years that I've done an end grain turning. i think it came out pretty nice especially with the fungal staining. started this about a year ago and them let it rest, BIG difference in moisture. i also made the undercut as deep as i could without breaking through the side, although that might have been nice too. to see the edited video in just 5 mins: https://youtu.be/tP98w4xel0U?list=PLj... many are asking about my lathe in the video, it is a homemade model and you can fine a series of video on my homemade lathe here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list... to see a compilation video of the lathe: https://youtu.be/11Dh0XLtdFQ?list=PLj...
