The Painter Series
9 videos • 2,406 views • by Delay In Block® Productions Between the fall of 1989 and winter of 1997, Ed Painter recorded hundreds of trains all over the United States, amassing a large video collection that has never been viewed by the public until now. In 2020, we partnered with Ed to convert his old VHS and Hi-8 tapes to digital, remastering the lighting, color, and sound to enhance the viewer experience. We also went back through Ed's notes and noted the locations, dates, and train IDs that he recorded during his railfan adventures. In this series, you'll see steam and diesel, freight and passenger trains, faraway railfanning hotspots you've always wanted to visit, and even get to experience a cab ride over CSX rails. We'll also showcase Ed's rare footage of abandoned and forgotten railroad infrastructure - from the world famous Saluda Grade to Columbus, Ohio's now-abandoned Buckeye Yard. No matter what aspect of railroading you fancy, this series has something for everyone.
