PLUGS Playlist
71 videos • 4,120 views • by BoomBoxDeluxe This playlist showcases all of the PLUGS videos that are on BoomBoxDeluxe's channel. Some of the PLUGS videos will also feature sockets that are associated with the PLUGS that have been documented. The PLUGS that have been showcased in this playlist are electrical power PLUGS used in the United Kingdom. In cases of the BS 546 Pin Configuration, that configuration has been adopted by other countries including parts of South Africa and India. This can also be said about BS 1363: Also used in Ireland and Malta, possibly other places too. Quite recently, there has been an exception (and this will probably be the only one!) where a few 15A Australian/New Zealand PLUGS and a coupler are shown in the PLUGS playlist. This is due to those going to be associated with the use of a BoomBox, and that BoomBox (Sharp GF-767) can be found in the BoomBoxes playlist! :D Not shown in the PLUGS playlist are PLUGS not associated with power, or those outside of the UK. Examples of PLUGS not shown, documented or showcased are Audio, Video, Data, Signal, Telecommunication, Optical, or extra low voltage (ELV) PLUGS, like the jack plug which would supply 12 volts to a laptop, or the type of plug that you'd put in your kitchen sink or bathtub! :D Not all PLUGS are that well known, and this may include the old "Wylex" plugs, (and a set of these CAN be found in the playlist!) and other PLUGS which didn't go nationwide, like Dorman Smith plugs and sockets. This is part of the reason why the PLUGS mini-series and its associated playlist were made... To document such lesser-known PLUGS for all to see! A little later on, more 'specialist' mains-power PLUGS may make their way into the PLUGS mini-series and onto the playlist, like MK's variant of the BS 1363 pin configuration which has a T-shaped earth pin, which prevents normal plugs from being inserted into the related sockets. Such sockets would be wired into a circuit which is fed by an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) for computers. Connecting a high-power appliance like a vacuum cleaner into such a circuit would severely damage the electronic UPS unit, hence specialist sockets. An earlier attempt at 'specialising' the BS 1363 pin configuration was the "Walsall" plug. It essentially had the same pin layout as BS 1363, but ALL pins were rotated 90 degrees from the usual orientation associated with BS 1363. If such a plug can be sourced for the PLUGS mini-series and the PLUGS playlist, then it is hoped that such a specialist plug will show on this playlist some time in the future for all to see! Thank you for stopping by to view my PLUGS and their playlist. -BoomBoxDeluxe.
