Project X SSDR Microlight Aircraft build options being looked at.
14 videos • 770 views • by Flying Kub Project X is me looking to find a suitable aircraft for me to build for myself. The type I am after is a Single Seat De-Regulated (UK SSDR) aircraft that would fall between US Part 103, Light Sport and would be an Experimental Home Build. I am looking at the Spacek SD1 Tail Dragger. The Spacek SD1 is a high-performance single seat de-regulated microlight (SSDR) aircraft, which, is made from wood and composite. It can be powered by a number of engines, both 2 and 4 stroke up to 50Hp and with a cruse speed of up to 103mph. I am also looking at the Fisher Flying Products Youngster V. This is a classic style biplane made from wood, with a unusual structure, using geostatic construction to make a light, rigid and strong airframe. The cruse speed is up to 90mph with a full VW engine fitted. The videos will show how I got on and the final decision as to which one I end up building, they are not instructional videos but may give you ideas of what you might do or want to do if you decide to build your own aircraft.
