The pups were born -- despite my efforts to have an absolutely perfect whelping den all set up -- right on our couch. What followed was eight weeks of wonder. (And then seven fantastic adoptions!) Since this was our first empty nest litter, we named everybody after birds: Meet Raven, Puffin, Jay, Magpie, Starling and little Chickadee.
