Among the instruments used are acoustic guitar, harpsichord, piano, violin/strings and other orchestral instruments, very light acoustic bass, etc. and occasional light kettle drums for crescendos. Through his music it has been fairly obvious that Ralf Eugen Barttenbach is a deeply spiritual man and his music exudes a deep spirituality and a love of nature. Some refer to this genre as “sacred space music.” Some find that his music is in and of the same spiritual realm as is the music of his contemporaries Raphael, Constance Demby, Aeoliah, Vangelis (at least Vangelis’ more pastoral releases), and The Golden Voyage releases by Bearns and Dexter. Ralf Barttenbach’s music can be used for active listening or as a backdrop for prayer, creative endeavors, intimate moments, relaxation, reading, the healing arts, etc. Truly music of the angels! And while his albums are somewhat similar in sound, they are all different enough that you will listen to ALL of his titles often, never tire of them, and would love to find more!
