3 videos • 122 views • by Jesse Coffey These ads, uploaded by a user named vintagehawaiitv, came from a telecast of FRIDAY NIGHT VIDEOS, as shown on Fox 2 back when it was an NBC affiliate. KHON-TV began its life as KULA-TV on channel 11 on December 15, 1952. It would move to channel 2 in 1955 due to it being one of the VHF allocations with a better ERP at the time. (channel 11 in Hawaii is currently occupied by PBS member station KHET.) KHON-TV became a Fox affiliate in 1996, and is now owned by the Nexstar Media Group. In 2004, it became the first of the few Fox affiliates that refrained from mentioning the network in its branding.
