Cheese ravioli baked in the oven topped with homemade tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese! Serve this ravioli parmesan dinner weekly, your family will love! Ingredients Yields: 4 serving 1 (24 oz. ) package frozen cheese ravioli 1 (28 oz.) can crushed tomatoes 1,1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped 1 small onion, finely chopped 2 tbsp. olive oil 2 branch fresh basil 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese salt and pepper to taste 1/2 tbsp of sugar (optional) Directions: (1) Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the garlic and onion; cook, stirring often, until the onion is softened, about 2-4 minutes. (2) Add the crushed tomatoes, salt, pepper, and a small branch of fresh basil. Reduce heat to medium-low to maintain a gentle simmer, and cook partially covered for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. After about 20 minutes, your tomato sauce is ready. Removed from the heat and set aside.. (3) Preheat the oven to 375°. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and season with salt. Cook the ravioli according to package directions. Once ready drain and let cool, or shock them in ice water and drain. (4) Spread 1 cup of the tomato sauce in the bottom of a 9-by-13-inch oven proof baking casserole dish. Arrange the ravioli in the dish, overlapping slightly if necessary. Spoon half of the remaining tomato sauce over the top of the ravioli. Top with 1-2 cups of the mozzarella and 1/4 cup of the parmesan cheese. (5) Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until bubbly. once done, sprinkle with fresh chopped basil, and serve hot!.
