This year, the recipients of the Foundress Mission Team Awards are the Geriatric Psychiatry Unit. This year, the recipient of the Individual Mission Award in Residential Care is Karen Wilson, receptionist, Youville Residence. Faye Meuser was an exceptional nursing leader who spent 27 years in various nursing management positions at Providence Health Care until her retirement. She passed away in June 2007 and, in recognition of her contributions to PHC and her strong leadership, Providence Health Care and St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation have established an award in her memory. This year’s recipient is Luciana Frighetto, director, Lower Mainland Pharmacy Services, Medication Use Evaluation & PHC Acute Care. The “Best” Patient Safety and Quality Award is named after Lynette Best, who served PHC for many years and did breakthrough work for implementing and measuring formalized quality, safety and care improvement structures and initiatives. Lynette is now an integral member of PHC’s Board of Directors. This year’s recipient is the team responsible for the Family Physician Notification Upon Admission project. The Research and Mission Award recognizes a scientist in the organization who demonstrates the mission and values of Providence Health Care while conducting outstanding research.
