Collegiate Dances

These dances were based on ballroom forms, but also added complex and athletic movements taken from Tap dance, African American dances such as Black Bottom, Charleston, and Shimmie as well creating unique movements such the Toddle (bounce) and long strides and unique hold of the Scandal Walk. These compiled film excerpts will hopefully aid in both explaining and also documenting the various "Collegiate" dance trends.
