Teaching Climate Together Season 1
6 videos • 133 views • by Isaias Hernandez The Teaching Climate Together web series exists to create a world where environmental education is inspiring, inclusive, and accessible. Our goal is to create spaces and content that help people engage with scientific evidence, cultural perspectives, and personal experiences to deepen their understanding of the climate crisis and its impacts. Our series examines diverse perspectives at the intersection of climate education, research, and communications. As the climate crisis increasingly makes headlines, the need for climate education is dire. According to a study from Pearson, the top sources for climate education are media (44%), social media (25%) and films (22%) - notably absent are classrooms themselves.Education is a powerful tool to drive change within communities and after learning about climate change, 73% of people were found to have taken action or made a change in their lifestyle (82% of Gen Z alone). Our curiosity about climate education and passion for making it accessible is the foundation of our work and the Teaching Climate Together Series. Isaias Hernandez is an Environmental Educator with a B.S. in Environmental Science from the University of California, Berkeley. Isaias built his career as an environmental educator on his ability to teach outside of classroom environments and specifically through social media, where an increasing number of people worldwide are learning about climate. His use of experiences from his own life to aid his fun, personal, and accessible forms of environmental education has attracted an audience of over 150,000, including the likes of VP Kamala Harris, Billie Eilish, and Dolores Huerta.
